first_img The market value of RWA on the Stellar blockchain approaches 4 billion USD, with an annual growth of about 360%

According to Cointelegraph, the market value of tokenized real-world assets (RWA) on the Stellar blockchain is expected to grow by approximately 360% by 2026, rising from $868.8 million at the end of last year to nearly $4 billion. The Dune Analytics dashboard maintained by Stellar shows that as of August 29, the market value of RWA on the network reached $3.996 billion, covering asset classes such as U.S. Treasury bonds, private and public credit, and non-U.S. government debt. The concentration of issuers is relatively high, with Spiko leading at $1.55 billion, followed by Realiz ($559 million), Tradable ($548 million), Franklin Templeton ($546 million), and Ondo ($535 million). Stellar has also made breakthroughs in the non-U.S. government debt sector, with the Stellar Development Foundation citing data from RWA.xyz stating that as of August 20, the network held approximately $490 million in such assets, including tokenized Mexican CETES and Brazilian government bonds issued through Etherfuse.Institutional adoption continues to drive growth. In May, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) announced plans to integrate its tokenization services with Stellar, with DTC tokenized assets expected to go live in the first half of 2027, potentially supporting tokenized U.S. Treasury bonds, major index ETFs, and Russell 1000 constituents. In July, Tradable announced plans to bring up to $1 billion in private credit assets to Stellar.

Wall Street clearing giant DTCC is collaborating with multiple Layer 1s to push corporate actions such as dividends on-chain

DTCC (Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation) CEO Frank La Salla stated that the company is collaborating with multiple high-performance Layer 1 blockchains to explore migrating complex corporate actions such as dividend payments and tender offers to on-chain processing.La Salla mentioned at the Consensus 2026 conference that most blockchains still lack efficiency in handling corporate actions, while DTCC needs to process millions of dividend payments daily, thus requiring support from Layer 1 networks with high throughput and stability. DTCC is one of the core infrastructures of the U.S. capital markets, handling approximately $20 trillion in U.S. Treasury and securities transactions daily. The organization plans to launch a tokenized securities platform test in July this year, aiming for a broader rollout in October.La Salla believes that "tokenized collateral" could become the first large-scale institutional application scenario for blockchain. In the future, Asian institutions could even access dollar liquidity in real-time through on-chain collateral during New York's Sunday hours. However, he also warned that blockchain still faces issues such as scalability, liquidity fragmentation, and risk management, especially the efficiency of "net settlement" in traditional financial systems, which remains difficult to replicate in a decentralized environment.

DTCC will launch limited trading of tokenized assets in July, having received feedback from BlackRock, Circle, and others

The core institution for custody and settlement in the U.S. market, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), announced that it will begin facilitating preliminary, limited real asset production transactions in July 2026, with a full launch of its tokenization services in October. This service was approved at the end of last year through a No-Action Letter from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), allowing DTCC to provide participants with the ability to tokenize specific high liquidity assets on a pre-approved blockchain during a three-year authorization period. These assets include components of the Russell 1000 Index, ETFs tracking major U.S. stock indices, as well as U.S. Treasury securities, notes, and bonds.DTCC President and CEO Frank La Salla stated, "We believe that tokenization will significantly change the way markets operate, bringing new levels of liquidity, transparency, and efficiency to investors." More than 50 companies are set to participate in DTCC's industry working group, including Morgan Stanley, Nasdaq, Kraken's parent company Payward, and Robinhood Markets, while companies like BlackRock and Circle have provided feedback. As financial firms explore bringing traditional assets onto the blockchain, interest in tokenization has surged, and this shift is expected to enable 24/7 trading and faster settlement speeds.
