first_img The Fogo mainnet has been down for 46 hours due to the theft of 400 million FOGO, with no scheduled restart time

According to The Defiant, the Fogo mainnet has stopped producing blocks for about 46 hours since Saturday afternoon due to an attack on the Fogo Foundation, resulting in 4 million FOGO tokens (approximately 10.3% of the circulating supply) being transferred to the attacker's address. The foundation initially stated that the chain itself was unaffected, but 15 hours later, the network was actively paused, and plans were made to restrict the related addresses through an upgrade. Currently, the Fogo official explorer shows the last block as 718,525,971, and the RPC endpoint returns a 502 error, while the on-chain TVL tracked by DefiLlama has been frozen at $987,000 for three consecutive days. This downtime is attributed to Fogo's validator design: the chain is managed by a council of 7 voting validators, with the foundation staking evenly among 7 operators, allowing for coordination to pause and implement a client-level address blacklist within minutes. On the exchange side, both KuCoin and Gate have disabled FOGO deposits and withdrawals but retained trading, with a 24-hour spot trading volume of approximately $2.3 million. Meanwhile, a Twitter account impersonating the Fogo Foundation, @FcgoFNDN, posted a false compensation voting link, and Fogo officials reminded users to rely only on information from official channels.Fogo is the second network to actively pause over the weekend, following Cronos, which rolled back its state due to an attack on the Tectonic lending protocol. Fogo raised approximately $7 million by selling 2% of its supply through Binance before launching its mainnet in January, with a valuation of $350 million. The foundation has not yet disclosed details of the attack, compensation plans, or a restart timeline.

Hyperbridge restarts the cross-chain interoperability protocol and launches the OFT adapter, completing the decentralized architecture upgrade

Hyperbridge Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol Hyperbridge announced the completion of a comprehensive architecture reboot, re-launching after completing security audits, bug bounty incentives, and system reconstruction, and officially transforming into a "hyperstructure." The protocol was suspended after the security incident on April 13, during which it completed a joint audit with organizations such as SRLabs and paid over $150,000 in bounties to security researchers. The team stated that this upgrade removed the original centralized management keys, transitioning to a fully permissionless network of validators and provers, achieving full-stack decentralized operation. This reboot also introduced the "Hyper Fungible Token (HFT)" standard, making each cross-chain asset an independent application layer structure, with issuers autonomously controlling cross-chain behavior rules, including pause mechanisms and throttling strategies. Hyperbridge also released the OFT (Omnichain Fungible Token) adapter, which is compatible with existing cross-chain protocols like LayerZero, allowing assets to be migrated to a zero-knowledge proof-based transport layer by simply modifying configuration parameters, without the need to redeploy contracts. In addition, the protocol's business model has shifted from a pay-per-use model to a subscription model, allowing cross-chain applications to pay a stablecoin fee of $50 to $1,000 per month for bandwidth services. The official statement indicated that this upgrade marks Hyperbridge's transition from an early cross-chain bridge project to a fully decentralized infrastructure protocol, aiming to provide a unified interoperability layer for a multi-chain ecosystem without the need for trusted intermediaries.

Drift announced the restart of its Perp DEX for the Solana ecosystem, with revenue used to establish a user compensation fund

Drift Protocol stated that its current top priority is to restart the platform and restore revenue-generating capabilities to expedite the recovery process of user funds. After the platform restarts, it will become the largest USDT-based perpetual contract trading platform on Solana, and the related revenue will be used to support a specially established user compensation fund.Drift claims that substantial progress has been made in the restart efforts with strategic support from Tether and other partners. To enhance security, Drift announced the appointment of Noah Prince, the former head of engineering at Helium Protocol, as the protocol lead, responsible for protocol restructuring and security system upgrades.Meanwhile, former members of the Gauntlet team have also joined the restart efforts, providing risk management and treasury design support for the platform, including clearing engine reviews, funding rate optimization, market parameter adjustments, and ongoing risk monitoring. Additionally, Drift has hired the cybersecurity company Mandiant to conduct an independent forensic investigation of the attack incident. The investigation results indicate that this attack can be clearly attributed to the North Korean hacker group UNC6862, which is associated with multiple cyber attack operations. Drift stated that it will continue to prioritize security in advancing the platform restart and will announce the user compensation mechanism and specific timeline in the future.
