Data: YZi Labs ranked as the second largest active family office globally in August, participating in 10 financing rounds with a total scale of 42.1 million USD

According to the disclosure by Family Office New Intelligence, data service provider FINTRX tracking shows that in August, family offices participated in a total of 109 transactions, with the total disclosed financing amount reaching 16.9 billion USD. Among these, follow-on financing rounds, where family offices continued to invest in companies they already hold, accounted for 27% of the transaction count. This indicates that, compared to continuing to invest in existing projects, family offices are more active in seeking and investing in new projects. The most active institution in August was a16z Perennial.a16z Perennial was established in 2022 and is a joint family office under the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, providing wealth management and investment services for its core partners Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, as well as the entrepreneurs they support. As of the end of 2025, a16z Perennial manages approximately 2.74 billion USD in regulated assets. In August, a16z Perennial participated in a total of 17 transactions, ranking first; the total disclosed scale of the related financing rounds reached approximately 10.45 billion USD.Ranking second is YZi Labs, founded by Binance founder Changpeng Zhao. YZi Labs manages over 10 billion USD in assets globally, with investment coverage including Web3, artificial intelligence, and healthcare, and invests in startups at various stages of development. In August, YZi Labs participated in 10 transactions, second only to a16z Perennial; however, the total scale of the financing rounds involved in these transactions was 42.1 million USD, largely appearing in large financing rounds of several hundred million or even several billion USD.It should be noted that the amounts mentioned above refer to the total financing scale of all investors in the related financing rounds, rather than the actual investment amount of the family offices themselves. Due to the strong privacy of family office investments, it is usually difficult to obtain the specific investment amount of a single family office in each transaction.

first_img Licheng, Jingyuan Electronics, and Silergy experienced a double increase in revenue in August, and Licheng's panel-level packaging capacity has been fully booked

Licheng, Jingyuan Electronics, and Silergy all reported year-on-year and month-on-month revenue growth in August, with Licheng and Silergy setting new historical highs for two consecutive months. Licheng's consolidated revenue in August was 8.558 billion New Taiwan Dollars, a month-on-month increase of 3.48% and a year-on-year increase of 24.46%. After breaking the 8 billion mark for the first time in July and setting a historical high, August saw another record. The cumulative revenue for the first eight months reached 61.258 billion New Taiwan Dollars, a year-on-year increase of 30.83%. Jingyuan Electronics reported revenue of 4.08 billion New Taiwan Dollars in August, a month-on-month increase of 2.23% and a year-on-year increase of 31.58%. The cumulative revenue for the first eight months was 29.404 billion New Taiwan Dollars, a year-on-year increase of 35.53%. Silergy's revenue in August was 2.07 billion New Taiwan Dollars, with a month-on-month increase of nearly 3% and a year-on-year increase of nearly 29%. The cumulative revenue for the first eight months reached 15.26 billion New Taiwan Dollars, a year-on-year increase of over 20%.Licheng's main source of growth this year remains the rebound in demand for memory packaging and testing. Licheng previously anticipated that revenue in the third quarter would show single-digit quarter-on-quarter growth, with the fourth quarter having the potential to exceed the third quarter. The momentum for memory orders is expected to continue until the end of the year, with a positive market outlook at the beginning of next year. In addition to its core memory business, advanced packaging has become a key focus for the next phase of development. The panel-level packaging has already been adopted by American clients, and the production capacity of the P11 plant has been secured by clients, with plans to enter the mass production phase of integrated ASIC and HBM AI chips by mid-2027.Jingyuan Electronics has been actively expanding its high-end testing capacity in recent years, with AI-related products becoming an important driving force for its operations. The testing demand for AI GPUs, ASICs, and high-performance computing chips remains its main source of growth. Silergy pointed out that the demand for AI and high-speed interconnects is strong, including an increase in demand for high-performance computing chips such as CPUs, GPUs, ASICs, and AI accelerators. After completing the cleanroom construction at the newly acquired Hukou plant in February, Silergy began mass production in July, currently achieving 40% of the total capacity of the plant and gradually taking on new demand from overseas clients.

Gate Research Institute: In August, the overall risk assets increased, and the trend momentum strategy performed steadily

Gate Research Institute released the August 2026 cryptocurrency and TradFi quantitative report. BTC and ETH rose approximately 25.1% and 32.6% respectively during the month. Gate contract data shows that the open interest amount for BTC increased from about $4.02 billion to $4.38 billion, while ETH rose from about $2.46 billion to $2.75 billion, with increases of approximately 9% and 12.1% respectively. The funding rates for both remained moderately positive most of the time, with long positions dominating the number of accounts, but the active trading long-short ratio was below 1. The TradFi market also rose in sync, with NAS100 increasing about 4.2% during the month, outperforming US500 and US30, while large tech stocks showed a divergence in trends. The report compared four models: moving average trends, trend momentum, Donchian breakout, and RSI mean reversion. Backtesting results showed that the 100-day moving average and 20-day price momentum strategies achieved positive cumulative returns on BTC, ETH, US500, and NAS100, with a median Sharpe ratio of 0.64 and a median maximum drawdown of 8.71%. The report includes Gate TradFi's US500 and NAS100 in cross-asset observations and evaluates market heat by combining Gate contract long-short ratios, funding rates, and open interest data. The execution over the next one to three months will focus on trend confirmation, volatility rebalancing, leverage limits, and cooling off abnormal liquidations.

Non-farm payrolls will be announced tonight, and the market expects an increase of only 56,000 people in August

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics will release the August non-farm payroll report tonight, with the market expecting an increase of only 56,000 jobs and an unemployment rate remaining at 4.1%. The market generally believes that the U.S. job market is currently in a "stable but weak" state, and a weakening employment data may not directly prompt the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates, with policy focus still on inflation trends.J.P. Morgan's trading desk predicts that if job additions exceed 95,000, the S&P 500 index may drop by 0.5% to 1.25%; if job additions are only between 5,000 and 35,000, the S&P 500 index may rise by 0.25% to 0.75%. The market expects that this non-farm data will become an important variable affecting the Federal Reserve's September policy expectations and the short-term trend of U.S. stocks.Recent statements from Federal Reserve officials indicate that the job market is currently not the focus of policy. Federal Reserve Governor Barr stated earlier this week that the employment situation is "stable," while Governor Waller said on Thursday that the employment condition is "satisfactory." This assessment does not imply that the job market is performing strongly, but it suggests that in the absence of further easing in inflation, the Federal Reserve may consider raising interest rates while trying to avoid impacting employment.
